Falafel with Wasabi Mayonnaise Recipe
A traditional Mediterranean recipe, Falafel is an easy-to-make dish which is quite popular among the foodies. Here is a little twist to this delicious as it is paired with Wasabi Mayonnaise, which is a fusion of Japanese and Spanish food culture. Prepared using white chickpeas or chole, wasabi sauce, bell pepper, green chilli, garlic and coriander leaves, this delicious dish will leave awestruck in its mouth bursting flavour.

Step 1 Soak and cook chickpeas for 10-15 minutes
To make crispy falafel, add soaked chickpeas in a pressure cooker along with enough water to boil them. Place the pressure cooker over medium flame and boil the chickpeas for 10-15 minutes. Once done, take it off the flame and drain the excess water. Transfer the chickpeas in a bowl and mash them with a masher.

Step 2 Prepare the falafel mixture
In a mixer-grinder, add the mashed chickpeas along with chopped capsicum, ginger, garlic, green chillies, coriander leaves, onion, and salt. Coarsely grind together all the ingredients and transfer the mixture to a bowl, and add baking powder to it. Knead this mixture in the form of dough and shape it into medium-sized oval balls and slightly flatten them using your palms.

Step 3 Fry the flattened falafel patties
Now, heat refined oil in a deep-bottomed pan over medium flame. When the oil is hot enough, add the flattened patties to it. Fry them until they are golden-brown in colour. Once done, place the fried patties onto a plate lined with absorbent paper to soak up the excess oil.

Step 4 Prepare the Wasabi Mayonnaise and serve hot
Finally, prepare the dip by mixing together wasabi sauce and mayonnaise. Once done, serve the falafel with this wasabi mayonnaise and enjoy!
