Narkel Naru Recipe
It is impossible to image a meal without this authentic Bengali delight, Narkel Naru also know as Narikel Er Naru is quintessential Bengali sweet made with the goodness of coconut made with jaggery or sugar. It comes with tons and tons of sweet and savoury delicacies that can be devoured within no time. ‘Narkel’ means nariyal (coconut) and ‘Naru’ means laddoo (sweet spherical balls), and combining coconut into a laddoo is one of the amazing things you can do with it! Step 1 Dry roast the grated coconuts until brown
To prepare this amazing dessert recipe, heat a frying pan and add freshly grated coconut to it. Over a medium flame, stir continuously and let the coconuts turn brownish.

Step 2 Prepare a sticky coconut paste for the laddoos
To the dry roasted coconut, add sugar and cardamom. Mix vigorously until the mixture that you get is golden brown and sticky.

Step 3 Cool the mixture and make round laddus with your hands
Let the mixture cool down to the point where your hands can comfortably handle it. Now pull out a portion from this mixture and start making small spherical balls (laddoo) out of it. Keep the laddus aside and let them settle well. Cool them and enjoy fresh.
Tips :

To make it healthy, you can replace refined sugar with jaggery.

To give a sweet twist you can add khejur gur in place or normal gur (jaggery)

To make it more healthy, you can add in some crushed dry fruits and nuts.
