Focaccia Recipe
Focaccia is a classic Italian flatbread having a rich and flavourful taste. It is a great alternative to a garlic bread as it also contains a refreshing herby zing of rosemary. Comparable in texture and style to the pizza dough, Focaccia is used as a side to many dishes and is rich in carbohydrates comfort food.

Step 1 Knead a sticky dough
Combine salt, sugar, flour, yeast, oregano, half the rosemary, basil, thyme, black pepper with water and vegetable oil in a mixing bowl. Knead a soft and sticky dough.

Step 2 Pound and knead again a soft dough using vegetable oil
Now, put the dough on a clean and dry surface after sprinkling some flour. Pound and knead a soft, elastic and smooth dough. Coat the bowl with oil and put in the dough while making sure it’s well coated with oil on all sides.

Step 3 Let the dough rise for 20 minutes
Cover the dough with a damp and clean cloth. Let it rest at a warm place for 20 minutes. Preheat the oven for 230 degrees C (450 degrees F).

Step 4 Place the dough in a greased baking tray and apply cheese and rosemary on it
Grease a baking tray. Knead the dough again and mould in a thick rectangle shape while making sure it is a half-inch thick. Brush with olive oil and poke holes on the surface. Sprinkle both the cheese, sea salt flakes and what is left of the rosemary.

Step 5 Bake the bread for 15 minutes
Bake for 15 minutes in the preheated oven until it turns golden brown. Drizzle some olive oil and serve warm.
