Step 1 Wash, peel and grate
Wash sweet potato properly. Then peel it and grate it. Once done, keep it aside.

Step 2 Fry the ingredients
Heat 1 tsp oil in a kadhai and fry grated potato till they are cooked well. Add salt as per your taste. Now switch off the flame and mix tamarind paste in it.

Step 3 Make tempering
Prepare the tempering by frying coriander seeds, red chillies, curry leaves, coconut and chana dal in a teaspoon of oil. Pour over the sweet potato mixture and mix lightly. Your chutney is ready to be served.
