Dudhi halwa is a sweet Indian dessert made from bottle gourd or opo squash. Bottle gourd is known as lauki or ghiya in Hindi and dudhi in Marathi. So this Indian dessert is known by the name lauki halwa or dudhi halwa. You can make this lauki halwa during religious fasting days also like Navratri fast or Ekadashi.

Ingredients:

  • 500Gram Bottle gourd (Dudhi)
  • 3tp Spoon Ghee
  • 2 Cup of Milk
  • 2tp Spoon Fresh Malai
  • 4tp Spoon Milk Powder
  • Pinch Of Food Colour (Apple Green Colour)
  • Cashew And Almond (For Garnishing)

સામગ્રી:

  • 500 ગ્રામ દુધી
  • 3 ચમચી ઘી
  • 2 કપ દૂધ 
  • 2 ચમચી તાજી મલાઈ
  • 4 ચમચી દૂધ પાવડર
  • ફૂડ કલરની ચપટી ( લીલો રંગ)
  • કાજુ અને બદામ (સુશોભન માટે)

Tips:

  • firstly, grate the lauki leaving behind the seeds. else dudhi halwa doesn’t taste good.
  • also, to reduce the cooking time, add condensed milk instead of sugar.
  • additionally, keep stirring lauki halwa and cook on le to medium flame else there are chances to burn from the bottom.
