Sooji Dhokla Recipe
You must have heard of dhokla made with besan till now; however, here is a version that uses semolina or sooji for dhokla. This tasty and yummy sooji dhokla is ideal for breakfast and even evening snacks.
Sooji Dhokla Recipe
Ingredients:
- 2 cup semolina
- 1/2 cup thick sour curd
For Dressing :
- 1 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 2 stalks curry leaves

Step 1 Mix semolina with salt
In a bowl. Combine semolina, salt and chilli powder.

Step 2 Mix all the dry ingredients
Mix the dry ingredients and add oil.

Step 3 Add curd in semolina
Now, add curd and a little bit of water, if required.

Step 4 Let it rest for 30 minutes
Mix well. Cover and keep aside for 30 minutes.

Step 5 Grease baking tin and spread the semolina batter
Apply oil in the baking tin. Just before steaming the dhoklas add 1 tablespoon baking powder to the mixture. When the bubbles form, mix gently. Pour the batter immediately in the greased baking tin and spread the batter evenly..

Step 6 Steam the batter for 12 minutes and prepare the tempering
Cover and steam in a steamer for 12 minutes. Now, take it out and pour the tempering made with mustard seeds and curry leaves over the suji dhokla and sprinkle the coriander leaves over it.

Step 7 Cut into equal sized pieces
Let the dhokla cool down slightly and cut into equal sized square pieces.

Step 8 Serve warm
Serve the dhoklas with coriander or tamarind chutney.
