Seasoned Idly Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup idli batter
  • 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
  • 5 chopped cashews
  • 1 ginger
  • salt as required
  • refined oil as required
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin seeds
  • 5 curry leaves
  • 1 chopped green chilli
  • 3 tablespoon grated coconut
  • water as required

Recipe :

  • Step 1

    Take 1 bowl of idli batter. ( This is regular idli batter that we prepare at home i.e 1 cup of urad dal and 2 cups of rava). In a food processor, make a paste of ginger and green chilli along with a little water.

  • Step 2

    Take a pan, keep it on medium flame and add oil in it. When it becomes hot, add cumin seeds, mustard seeds, curry leaves and cashews and fry it till it becomes golden brown in colour.

  • Step 3

    Add the ginger-green chilli paste and grated coconut to the batter. Pour the entire seasoning along with salt into the idli batter and mix well.

  • Step 4

    Check for the right consistency of the batter. If needed add some water. The consistency has to be a little thick.

  • Step 5

    Make the delicious idlis with the seasoned batter in the idli maker. Serve hot.
