Pulissery (Moru Curry) Recipe
A common dish in every Malayali household, Pulissery is a traditional dish that's prepared in the Onam Sadhya. It is also known as 'Moru Curry' or 'Spiced Buttermilk Coconut Curry' in simpler terms and is truly delicious.

Step 1
To make the coconut paste, blend together coconut with water, green chillies, garlic cloves, cumin seeds and turmeric powder. Make a smooth paste and take it out in a bowl.

Now, make the buttermilk with yoghurt by blending it nicely in a blender. Once done with it, heat oil in a pan over medium flame and add mustard and fenugreek seeds in it.

Saute the seeds after adding dry red chillies and curry leaves in it. After a minute, add the coconut paste and stir continuously to mix everything well. Now, turn the flame to low setting and add the buttermilk in it.

Cook until the curry thickens, then add salt and a little water and cover with a lid. Let it cook over low flame for 2-3 minutes. Now, take off the lid and serve hot with rice and enjoy!
