  • Step 1

    To begin with, put a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and add grated coconut in it followed by full cream milk and sugar. Stir the milk and let it cook on low flame until you get a thick consistency, this might take about 15 minutes. Meanwhile, take a small bowl and add 2 tablespoons of milk in it along with saffron. Keep it undisturbed for a while.

  • Step 2

    Now, in the coconut mixture, add khoya followed by powdered cardamom and saffron mixture. Mix well using a spatula until the consistency of the mixture thickens and clumps begin to form.

  • Step 3

    Take a tray and grease it with butter, and evenly pour the prepared mixture in it. Add silver vark on the mixture and press them lightly. Leave the mixture undisturbed for 60 minutes and let the burfi set.

  • Step 4

    Finally using a clean knife, cut the mixture in desired shapes and sizes. Serve fresh!
