Gulab Jambu Without Using Khoya Sweet dish

The classic pillowy gulab jamun is enough to leave our sweet cravings satisfied. Gulan Jamun is one of the oldest and the most popular Indian desserts we have relished growing up. Be it a wedding celebration or a religious ceremony, gulab jamun is the most preferred sweet of all times. Fried khoya and flour balls dunked in dense sugar syrup just fill our mouths with sweetness and our hearts with joy. All thanks to khoya, it is smooth and creamy too. There's no doubt that khoya or mawa is the star ingredient of gulab jamun, but it's not an indispensable part of the cooking process.

These soft sugar syrup-soaked balls are a treat always. Sometimes to satisfy our sweet cravings, I make gulab jamun.

  • Pinch of Cardamom Powder
  • Pinch of Saffron

Notes:

  • If the sugar syrup has impurities, then add milk and simmer. A layer of scum will be formed. Remove this layer with a spoon.
  • When making a Jamun dough ball, there should be no cracks on it. If you see cracks then add some more milk to the dough mixture. Mix and then form the Jamun again.
