Ingredients :

  • 3/4 cup scraped bottle gourd

For Dough :

  • 2 cup wheat flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon powdered turmeric
  • 5 cloves crushed to paste garlic
  • 2 pinches salt
  • 1 tablespoon low-fat yoghurt
  • 5 chopped green chili
  • 1 teaspoon refined oil
  • 1 dash sugar

Recipe :

  • Step 1

    Scrape the bottle gourd (doodhi) on the scraper and squeeze it to remove excess water before you start to mix the ingredients.

  • Step 2

    Mix all the ingredients and knead into a soft dough.

  • Step 3

    Make small balls as you do with the atta before rolling them.

  • Step 4

    Roll out each portion thinly into a circle.

  • Step 5

    Put a non-stick pan on medium flame and cook each thepla on both sides with very little oil until it appears a little brown.

  • Step 6

    Serve hot with green chutney and curd.
