Sandesh Recipe
Sandesh or more fondly known as sondesh, is a popular Bengali sweet dish that is a very important part in the quintessential Bengali meal. This easy sweet recipe is loved and adored by people all over the world and its origin dates long back in time. Traditionally prepared with chenna, there are many other versions of this simple sweet dish. Some prepare it with khoya, some with jaggery and for this recipe, we make it with everyone’s favourite, paneer or cottage cheese.

Step 1 Knead the paneer dough
To make this sweet dish, first, take paneer in a plate and knead it in a smooth dough.

Step 2 Mix paneer, sugar and cardamom powder
Now, take a pan and add in it paneer, powdered sugar and cardamom powder. Fry the mix on low flame for about 5 minutes only. Make sure you do not overcook the mix.

Step 3 Roll into flat pieces and serve
Once the mixture cools down, knead it lightly. Roll it to prepare balls and flatten slightly. Garnish with nuts and saffron and serve.
