Recipe :

  • Step 1 Wash rice and soak them for one hour

To prepare this dessert recipe, add rice in a medium sized bowl and wash 3-4 times to remove the dust particles. Then, pour water to the bowl and cover it using a foil paper or cloth. Soak the rice for about an hour.

  • Step 2 Boil coloured water till its half and saute cardamom

Next, put a deep-bottomed pan on medium flame and boil water in it. After a boil, add orange food colour in the water along with half the quantity of cardamom pods and switch off the burner. Then, put a medium-sized kadhai over medium flame and heat vegetable oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, saute the remaining cardamom pods for a few seconds.

  • Step 3 Add rice to the coloured water and cook for 5-7 minutes

Drain the extra water from the soaked rice and add them to the kadhai along with sugar as per your taste and coloured water. Stir to mix once and cover the kadhai using a lid and cook for 5-7 minutes. Then, add orange zest, almonds, walnuts, raisins along with fresh cream to the kadhai and mix once again.

  • Step 4 Serve hot

Remove the kadhai from the burner. When the rice is done, transfer in a bowl and serve hot!
