Jowar ki roti is one of the healthy rotis/chapati that we can make at home. Also known as jowar, jola or jondhalaa, it is used to make bhakri, or jowar roti. In english it is called Sorghum, and it has many nutritional properties.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup water

Recipe :

  • Step 1 Prepare the dough

    Add jowar flour in a bowl with salt and add 1/2 cup hot water. Mix the flour and add 1/4 cup more water to it and mix well. Knead the dough until smooth. Keep it aside and let it cool.

  • Step 2 Flatten the dough with a rolling pin

    Make medium-sized balls out of the dough and dust it with jowar flour. With a rolling pin, flatten the balls into rotis. Add extra flour if required.

  • Step 3 Cook the roti

    Heat a griddle and place the roti on it and let it cook on one side and then flip the roti. Pick up the roti with tongs and place it on the fire. Cook it on both sides as the rotis begin to puff up. Serve hot.
