Hummus is a savoury, smooth dip that is had along with Pita bread and also with different kinds of chips. This dip or spread comes from the Mediterranean cuisine and is loved by people all across the world for it’s smooth yet tangy taste.

  • Step 1 Soak and wash the chickpeas

    Soak the chickpeas and wash the chickpeas. Add all the ingredients in a blender and add 1/2 cup of chickpea water too.

  • Step 2 Blend and serve!

    Blend for 30 seconds to 1 minute for a smooth texture. Take it out on a plate or in a bowl and garnish with 3-4 drops of olive oil and red paprika powder. Serve with pita chips!

Tips :

  • To make your hummus creamy and flavourful, try and use the chickpeas that have been cooked to perfection. Never ever use undercooked chickpeas for hummus.

  • You can use some baking soda while soaking chickpeas, as that can make chickpeas soft and help in cooking them faster.

  • If you are using canned chickpeas for making instant hummus, boil them for 20-30 minutes with a little baking soda. (You can also use leftover chickpeas through this method.)

  • Keep the water of soaked chickpeas, as you can use this for making the right consistency of your Hummus.
