Pav bhaji is an iconic dish from Mumbai and hugely popular all over India. Pav means bread rolls.

Bhaji is the Marathi word for vegetables or a vegetable-based dish (dry or gravy). Since both the bhaji (vegetable gravy) and pav are served together, hence the name Pav bhaji‘

Pav bhaji is basically a mix of mashed & spiced vegetables in gravy. A special spice blend ‘Pav Bhaji Masala‘ is used to make pav bhaji.

Pav bhaji masala powder is easily available in Indian stores and can be easily made at home too. Though homemade spice blends are always good, you can make pav bhaji with your favorite brand of pav bhaji masala.

Pav bhaji originated in Mumbai as a quick lunch option for textile mill workers. Gradually this dish becomes so popular that now it is served as street food as well as in restaurants in Mumbai and the rest of India.

Ingredients:

  • 500Gram Chopped Cabbage
  • 200Gram Chopped cauliflower
  • 1Small Piece Of Chopped Carrot
  • 1Small Piece Of Chopped Tomato
  • 1/2Cup Of Peas
  • 1 Glass Of Water
  • Salt (As Per Test)
  • Pinch Of Turmeric Powder
  • 1Small Piece Of Chopped Bitroot
  • 3 Pieces of Onion
  • 3 Pieces of Tomato

For Tempering :

  • 2tp Spoon Oil
  • 1tp Spoon Butter
  • 2tp Spoon Ginger Garlic Pest
  • 2tp Spoon Red Chilli Powder
  • 2tp Spoon Pav Bhaji Masala (Ready-Made)
  • Salt (As Per Test)
  • 1/2Piece of Lemon Juice
  • 1tp Spoon Butter
  • Coriander Leaves (For Garnishing)

સામગ્રી:

  • 500 ગ્રામ કાપેલું  કોબી
  • 200 ગ્રામ કાપેલું ફૂલકોબી
  • 1 નાનો ટુકડો કાપેલું ગાજરનો 
  • 1 નાનું કાપેલું ટામેટાં
  • 1/2 કપ વટાણાની 
  • 1 ગ્લાસ પાણી
  • મીઠું (સ્વાદ અનુસાર)
  • ચપટી હળદર પાવડર
  • 1 નાનો ટુકડો કાપેલું   બિટ
  • ડુંગળીના 3 ટુકડાઓ
  • ટામેટાંના 3 ટુકડાઓ

વઘાર માટે:

  • 2 ચમચી તેલ
  • 1 ચમચી બટર
  • 2 ચમચી આદુ લસણ પેસ્ટ
  • 2 ચમચી લાલ મરચું પાવડર
  • 2 ચમચી પાવ ભાજી મસાલા (તૈયાર)
  • મીઠું (સ્વાદ અનુસાર)
  • 1/2 નંગ લીંબુનો રસ
  • 1 ચમચી બટર
  • કોથમીર (સુશોભન માટે)

Tips:

  1. You can give your own fusion twist to this delectable vegetarian recipe by garnishing it with some grated cheese and sprinkle some red chili flakes.
  2. You can also garnish Pav Bhaji with chopped onions and green chilies.
  3. If you prefer a darker Pav Bhaji, add Kashmiri red chili powder while cooking.
