Farsi Puri Recipe

Step 1
To make this snack recipe, take a bowl and add all purpose flour, semolina, cumin seeds, ghee and salt in it. Mix all the ingredients well using your fingertips. Now, add little water at a time and knead a hard dough. Once done, cover the dough with a wet kitchen towel and keep it aside for about 7-10 minutes.

Now, divide the dough into equal portions. Meanwhile, put a deep-bottomed pan over medium flame and heat refined oil in it. Then, dust a flat surface with some oil and roll each portion in shape of a pancake. Put 2 peppercorns on the rolled puri and prick it all over with a fork. Repeat the same step with the rest of the portions as well.

Once the oil is hot enough for frying, turn the flame to low. Now, add the rolled out puris in the hot oil and deep-fry the rolled puris till they are golden-brown from both the sides. Transfer the puris to a plate with absorbent paper to drain excess oil. Cool completely and store them in an air-tight container. Tasty and crunchy Farsi Puri are ready to eat. Serve these with a steaming cup of coffee or tea to enjoy!
