Recipe :

  • Step 1

To prepare this delectable recipe, knead dough made with whole wheat flour and make small balls out of it. Dust the balls with flour and roll in the shape of thin rotis. On the other hand, soak the almonds in water for 10 minutes. Once done, drain the water and chop the almonds.

  • Step 2

Next, heat oil in a frying pan and gently slide in the thin rotis, one at a time. Use a deep frying ladle and press the roti to the bottom of the pan to fry it well. Then flip the roti and fry again. Fry on medium flame until the roti becomes crispy and firm.

  • Step 3

To make the jaggery syrup, add jaggery and water in a pan and allow the jaggery to melt. Boil the mixture for 5-7 minutes until you get a thick consistency. Add red chilli powder and stir to mix well. Remove from heat and keep aside. Crush the crispy rotis into tiny bits and pieces and dip into the jaggery syrup.

  • Step 4

Mix the roti bits evenly in the jaggery syrup. Spread out on a ghee greased plate and allow it to cool down. Add raisins along with almonds and mix well. Your Goan Sweet Churmo is ready!
