However, if you want to bake the cake without using the oven, then here is a chance for you to learn baking without it. All you need is gas, Tawa and rock salt. Make a thick bed of salt on Tawa and heat it on medium flame.

  • Step 1 Prepare the dry flour mixture

    To prepare this easy recipe, take a bowl and mix together wheat flour, rava, baking soda and baking powder. Mix well using a spoon.

  • Step 2 Prepare the milk mixture

    In a separate bowl, add milk and sugar. Then slowly stir in the sugar and oil with the milk. Make sure that the sugar is dissolved completely. Then, add salt along with candied peels and cinnamon powder in this sweet milk and mix well.

  • Step 3 Add mashed banana to the milk mixture

    Peel the bananas and add in a bowl. Mash the banana with a masher. You can also use a fork if you do not have a masher. Add this mashed banana into the milk mixture and mix well using a spoon. (Note: You can even use a blender for blending all the ingredients.)

  • Step 4 Prepare the cake batter

    Now, add the dry mixture into the milk mixture slowly. Mix the cake batter properly and cover for 10 minutes. Apply a little butter and dry flour on the cake mould to coat and then pour the batter in the mould.

  • Step 5 Prepare rock salt bed for baking

    Now, for baking the cake, you need to make a hot bed of rock salt on a tawa. For the same, put a large tawa on high flame and add salt in it. Make sure that ts enough to create a thick bed.

  • Step 6 Bake the cake for 45 minutes

    Once this salt is hot enough, place the cake mould with the batter on the tawa. Tightly cover with the lid and let the cake bake for 45 minutes on low-medium flame. Check by poking a knife if the cake has properly baked. Once done, the cake is ready to de-mould and serve.

Tips :

  • Simply dust with some powdered sugar and the cake is good to go with your cup of tea or coffee.

  • You may use crushed almonds, pecans and raisins in the cake for a surprise crunch.
