Step 1
Heat oil in a pan on low flame and add cumin seeds (jeera). Once the cumin seeds start to crackle, add diced onions. Saute the onions till they turn slightly pinkish in hue.

Then add diced bottle gourd, garlic, green chillis, moong dal, lemon juice, coriander leaves, salt, black pepper and turmeric. Stir these ingredients well for around 2-3 minutes on medium flame. Then pour water in the pan and allow the ingredients to boil in the water for 1-2 minutes.

Now transfer all the ingredients of the pan in a pressure cooker and pressure cook them. Once done, transfer the mixture in a bowl and allow it to cool.

Blend the cooked mixture with a hand blender to form a soup like consistency. Add some more amount of water if required and boil for three minutes. It can be chilled and served as a cold soup. Serve the delicious and healthy bottle gourd soup after topping it with some fresh coriander.
