Step 1
To prepare this delicious dish, take a large saucepan over medium flame and heat olive oil in it. When the oil is hot enough, add the beef pieces and cook till it turns brown.

Now, add the onions and garlic, and cook for a couple of minutes before adding the crushed tomatoes along with cumin, coriander, allspice. Stir them well and season it with salt and pepper.

Next, add 8 cups of water and the tomato puree to the pan and mix them well. Finally, add the okra and bring the mixture to a boil. As it starts boiling, lower the flame and let it simmer for 2 hours or until the okra and meat are tender.

As the dish cooks, and the sauce starts thickening, if it does not, then, add half a cup of all-purpose flour. When the bamia is done, transfer it to a serving bowl and enjoy the dish with rice and salad!
