Punjabi-Style Rajma Recipe
Rajma chawal is a quintessential vegetarian Punjabi food item. Nicely cooked rice paired with thick and spicy rajma curry is suitable for all occasions, festivals and even parties.

Step 1
Heat the oil in your pressure cooker. Add asafoetida, cumin seeds, cinnamon stick, black cardamom, cloves and black pepper. Then, on a medium flame sauté for a minute.

Add ginger-garlic paste, along with the onions. Sauté for 2 to 3 minutes.

Now add tomatoes, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt to taste. Cook for 2 minutes. Stir occasionally.

Now, add 2 cups of water and the rajma. Mix well. Pressure cook until 4 whistles.

Don't forget to make the steam escape before you open the lid of the cooker.

Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and enjoy with rice.

Tip- Keep mixing the rajma to make the gravy thicker.
