About Sudoku
Sudoku asks for no arithmetic at all — the digits are just nine distinct symbols. Every puzzle is solved purely by elimination: if a row already holds eight of the nine, the last square is settled.
The two techniques that carry most puzzles are worth knowing. A "naked single" is a square where only one digit remains possible. A "hidden single" is a digit that can only go in one square of a row, column or box, even though that square looks like it has several options. Work those two alternately and easy and medium boards fall out.
Every puzzle here is generated fresh and verified to have exactly one solution, so you are never guessing — if you are stuck, the information you need is on the board.
