Step 1 Saute the spices in a cooker
To begin with this delicacy, take a pressure cooker and heat some refined oil in it. Once the oil gets heated add cumin seeds and let them crackle. After that add curry leaves followed by grated ginger and saute the mixture. Next add the asafoetida, dry red chillies and chopped green chilies. Saute the ingredients.

Step 2 Add the raw mangoes and mix with other ingredients
Now add the chopped raw mangoes followed by salt, turmeric powder and red chili powder. Mix all the ingredients well and cook for about a minute. Now, to the pressure cooker add moong dal with a little water. Allow it to cook for 5 minutes or before you hear the first whistle.

Step 3 Garnish and serve
Let the steam escape naturally before opening the lid. Once the cooker is cooled down, open and add chopped coriander to garnish. Serve hot with roti or rice.
