Gokul Pithe Recipe
Gokul Pithe is a traditional Bengali sweet dish that is a highlight of Makarsankranti. These sweet little dumplings are so tempting that you can't stop at one after you start savouring them. While khoya gives them a rich flour, grated coconut adds a chewy texture.

Step 1 Make sugar syrup
Firstly, heat 2 cups of sugar with 4 cups of water in a pan. Let it attain a two-string consistency and switch off the flame.

Step 2 Fry coconut and khoya
Now fry grated coconut, khoya in a pan over medium flame. Stir it continuously.

Step 3 Roll into balls
Now roll the mixture into balls and flatten between the palms.

Step 4 Prepare the batter
Prepare the batter by mixing flour, some ghee, baking soda and some water.

Step 5 Fry the small balls
Heat the leftover ghee in a kadhai. Coat each ball in the batter and deep fry over medium heat.

Step 6 Soak in syrup
Once all balls are fried, transfer them to sugar syrup and leave them for at least an hour.
