Butter naan is soft and extremely yummy, it is often served at buffets in festivals or special occasions. Naan, topped with melted butter is a delicious Indian bread. The best part is that we can easily make it at home.

  • Step 1 Prepare the dough

    Take a bowl and mix yeast, sugar and water. Then, add 1 cup flour and whisk it with the yeast mixture. Cover and keep it aside for 45 minutes. Add the remaining whole wheat flour, salt, butter and curd/yogurt. Knead it to a soft and smooth dough. Cover the dough and keep aside for 25 to 30 minutes. After that divide the dough into balls and keep aside for another 20 minutes.

  • Step 2 Cook the naan

    Dust the balls with flour and sprinkle some kalonji on them. With a rolling pin, roll the balls into naans. Then, heat a griddle and place the naan on it. Flip it and when you see some bubble on the naan, pick it up with a pair of tongs and place the side which was cooked first facing the fire. Flip it to cook on both sides and ensure that it doesn't burn too much. When you see brown spots on the naan, remove it from the stove.

  • Step 3 Butter naan is ready to be served

    Apply butter on the naan and serve hot with delicious curries.
