Punjabi Dry Daal Recipe
Punjabi Dry Daal is a famous Punjabi side dish recipe. Best served with rumali roti or naan, this easy to make recipe can be packed for office tiffin too.
Punjabi Dry Daal Recipe
Ingredients:
- 1 cup urad dal
- 1 medium chopped tomato
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic paste
- 2 tablespoon mustard oil
- 1/2 teaspoon coriander powder
- 1/4 cup water
- 2 medium chopped onion
- 2 small green chili
- 1/2 teaspoon ginger paste
- 3 pinches salt
- 1 teaspoon garam masala powder
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
For Garnishing :
- 1 tablespoon chopped coriander leaves

Step 1
Heat mustard oil in a cooker and add ginger and garlic paste. As they turn golden, add onions.

Fry onions till they turn golden brown and then add chillis and then add tomatoes.

Saute the ingredients till they are cooked and then add the soaked daal.

Mix the ingredients and add salt, turmeric, coriander powder, and garam masala powder.

Add 1/4 cup water and pressure cook for 5 mins on high flame.

Garnish it with coriander leaves and a green chili cut into halves.

Serve hot with rumali roti or naan.
