If you have all the ingredients handy, these cutlets will take you less than 30 minutes to make and serve.  The Green Spinach & Oats Cutlet can be served along with evening snacks.

Oats Tikki or oats cutlet is an easy and healthy snack made with oats, potatoes, and spices. This is a healthy snack for kids, adults, and especially forIftar now during Ramazan too as it's very filling. I make oats mostly for breakfast or quick lunch for myself, this cutlet I made few times before with slightly different variations but this is one recipe that I like the most and I make this especially for guests if want to serve something healthy and different.

This oats cutlet makes very good for kids snacks or lunch box or for your party it's wonderful too, the best thing is we can prepare the Tikki and keep in the fridge for 1 day or freeze it too just shallow fry them whenever we can ready to serve. I haven't tried deep frying these oats cutlets but if you making this in a large patch for the party then you can deep fry it but personally, I make my cutlets to be pan fried than deep-fried.

Ingredients:

Recipe:

  • Step 1 Mash the potatoes & grate the carrot

To begin this oats cutlet recipe, peel off the skin of boiled potatoes and mash them well.

  • Step 2 Prepare the cutlet mixture

Take a large bowl and add oats, mashed potatoes, ginger paste, green chilli paste, grated carrot, salt, chilli powder and garam masala powder to it. Crumble the paneer in the bowl and mix well to make the mixture into a dough-like consistency.

  • Step 3 Shape the cutlets

Take out small portions from the dough and using your palms, make small balls. When these balls are prepared, flatten them with your hands to form cutlets.

  • Step 4 Fry & serve your Oats Cutlet!

Finally, put a saucepan on medium flame and grease it well with just 2 tablespoons of refined oil. Place the prepared cutlets in the pan and cook from both sides. Once the golden brown color is obtained, turn off the flame and serve these oats cutlets with green chutney and tomato ketchup.

Tips
  • You can also add ground or broken pour into your cutlets for better texture.
  • Feel free to add corns or peas as per your preference.
