Jeera Cookies Recipe
Jeera cookies are delicious and mouthwatering. They have an appetising fragrance of cumin seeds that make it all the more delightful. Jeera cookies are famous Indian biscuits that are made with wheat flour and jeera. Cumin seeds give the cookies a delicious aroma and taste. These cookies are light and suitable for the stomach.

Step 1 Roast cumin seeds
Preheat the oven to 180 C degrees. Spread cumin seeds on a baking tray lined with baking sheet. Roast them in the oven for 4 minutes or until it gives out a nice aroma. Keep aside.

Step 2 Prepare the cookie dough
Mix butter and sugar in a bowl using a hand mixer. Then add flour, salt and 3/4 tbsp of cumin seeds to the mixture and combine. Reserve the rest of the cumin seeds for garnishing. Combine until the mixture looks smooth and form a dough. Add milk to make the dough smoother.

Step 3 Cut cookies
Sprinkle a little flour on a flat surface and flatten the dough using a rolling pin. Cut cookies in your preferred shape using cookie cutters and sprinkle the reserved cumin seeds on top.

Step 4 Bake cookies
Place the cookies in a baking tray and bake at 180 C degrees for 10 minutes. After that, take the baking tray out and reduce the temperature to 160 C degrees. Again, bake for 5-6 minutes or till they are golden brown from all the sides. Place the cookies on a wire rack and let them cool down.

You can also use all-purpose flour instead of wheat flour.
