Aamras Poori Recipe
It's time to ward off the summer blues with chilled Aamras. This Gujarati/Maharashtrian delight is plain mango pulp which is traditionally served with pooris as breakfast. Also considered as a dessert, Aamras Poori is sure to be loved by people of all groups. This mango recipe is a pure delight for all mango lovers. It is best enjoyed when chilled. While preparing this aamras recipe, just make sure that its consistency is not too runny as mango pulp tastes the best when it is of thick consistency.

Step 1 Peel and chop mangoes in a bowl
To make this delicious Aamras recipe, wash and clean the mangoes (alphonso) under cold running water. Wipe them with a clean cloth and then peel and chop them.

Step 2 Blend mango pulp with powdered sugar and milk
Now, take a blender jar and pour the mango pulp in it. Add powdered sugar and saffron strands in the blender jar and blend the mangoes to a smooth pulp. To thin down the aamras, add milk. However, make sure that the Aamras doesn't get too thin.

Step 3 Refrigerate the Aamras for 15 minutes
Pour the scrumptious Aamras in small bowls and place them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes. It is best enjoyed when it is chilled. Garnish with saffron strands.

Step 4 Knead dough for Poori
In a dough kneading plate, add wheat flour with 2 pinches of salt in it. Mix well and add water in it. Knead a stiff dough for Poori.

Step 5 Fry the pooris
Roll out the pooris and put a kadhai over medium flame. When the oil is hot enough, deep fry the pooris and serve hot with chilled Aamras.
